Stones can be found everywhere on the planet.
Solid beauty and a sense of permanence permeate the gravity defying dance they achieve when used in mobiles. Most of these stones were found either in the Great Lakes or from a basket of polished stones I was bequeathed from a dear friend who died on my birthday last year.
Stones can have meaning. A common practice on the Camino Santiago is to lug along a "sorrow" stone that you leave at the Cruz de Ferro. I will be carrying one or two.

Stones and Glass
Glass

Picture, if you will, colorful flashes and rainbows pirouetting about a room. Picture your cats trying to capture light. Soon you are entranced too. Crystals and glass can represent so many ideas and feelings depending on the context of a piece. See the interaction with the other portions of the mobile. Rainbows on vanes, shadows in the rainbow. All these things occurring, unseen in a split second or sometimes held in stasis for a fleeting moment of wonder.
